WWI Veteran Honor Flight
Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor American’s veterans for all their sacrifices. Honor Flight Network transports our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Kankakee Valley REMC in cooperation with Lafayette Gold Star Mothers and their Greater Lafayette Honor Flight is excited to offer one KVREMC member that is also a WWII Veteran and a “guardian” the opportunity to visit the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. This trip will include two seats on the Honor Flight charter, meals and bus transportation throughout the day-long trip. The flight will leave from the Lafayette airport. To apply to be a part of the April 16th Honor Flight, please complete the form below and return it to Kankakee Valley REMC by March 12, 2012. One veteran will be chosen for the trip. Additional information and forms will be made available to the veteran prior to the trip. All applicants will be notified if they are or are not chosen for the trip. The guardian must be an able-bodied friend or family member over the age of 21 that is physically capable of providing support to the veteran and can withstand the physical activities of this single day trip. The guardian does not have to be an REMC member. Medical personnel will be traveling with the group for the flight and tour. Any questions, please direct them to Amanda Steeb at Kankakee Valley REMC 219-733-2511 or asteeb@kvremc.com.
